Fragments of Enlightenment

I. The Art of Healing

Some say I have great knowledge,
some say I have great wisdom,
some say I care too much,
some say I work very hard,
but, all I did was listening.

II. If

If there is one pain,
one suffering,
one happiness,
one love,
one you,
one life…
If there is only one thing, I would give up everything and go seek it.

III. I am just a man.

What I have seen,
what I have heard,
what I have experienced,
what I went through,
what I have learned,
what I know,
do not make me a better man,
just a man.

IV. Metamorphosis

When the light rays touch your retina,
when the squeak reaches your tympanic membrane,
when the particles penetrate your olfactory nerve,
when the molecules bind with the receptors of you taste bud,
when the hairs on your skin are caressed,
when the stimulus evokes the electrical potential in your brain,
when you see it, you see it and
you are no longer in the dark.
When you experience it,
you know you have reached it.
Then, you can never erase it,
you will never be the same the again,
and you will know who you are.

V. Enlightened

One single lotus flower is
opening up to blossom.
A bird is spreading its wings to fly.
I open up my mind to silence,
to let peace come into me,
to let beauty come into me,
to let love come into me.
to let wisdom come into me.
I expand myself to encompass all things,
to become one again,
the parts that make up the sum -
the sum of all parts,
order to chaos, chaos to order,
life to death to rebirth -
reincarnation,
like the span of one's life,
the vehicle for the blessed,
like the expanding universe,
nothing is permanent.
