coyote circles endlessly
looking for the just right
soft place to sleep
the three-quarters moon
shines over his shoulder
highlighting his little feet
coyote has not had rest
since he last could eat
and he is not sure when
that will be    but he will
be always bold     bright
in a winter's moon
