Floating*

Floating on musical notes
Plucked from a green sea
Moving   moving   moving
Moving     always near a
Shore     more than you
Can hear     in an instant

As she picks faster and faster ever quickly up the beautiful neck of her shined wooden sitar
There comes a wave of sound so clear the clouds would move aside     as it passes their way
She smiles once twice at her tabla player when a passage satisfies      and her fingers fly on

* upon listening to sitar player Anoushka Shankar (yes, Ravi is her father)
