The Zen Awards Show

At the Zen awards show last night
speeches were made elsewhere,
teacups filled with flowers,
and dancers disappeared on stage
to re-appear as geese already flown.
Po-Chang walked backwards to the podium
singing, "Thank you for not coming,"
Bodhidharma painted poems
on raffle tickets that won nothing,
while Lin-jin told the front rows
they might get enlightened.
People demanded their money back,
throwing props and smashing chairs,
except for a little girl in the back
who caught a flying flower
and smiled.
