I collapse at the shore
letting out a groan
as it shakes the ground
I lay upon.
Every part of my body
Is aching and sore.
My hair is tattered
my clothing is torn.
I reached this far
I feel I can reach no more.
my chest
my heart
weak from the strength.
I turn
I find
the ocean I swam.
Blue and deep
further I look
the further I see
from horizon to horizon
The water.
The sea.
I can feel the sand
underneath my shell
It's hard to believe
how hard it was then.
The struggle
the fight.
So close to giving in.
The ocean knows
how strong I am.
I breathe in a deep breath
and let it out again.
I think I'll dive in and swim to the other end.
