Water of Repentance
When the body is dirty,
One cleanses it with water,
When the mind is dirty,
One cleanses it with water of repentance!
When the body is sick,
One treats it with medicine.
When the mind is sick,
One treats it with wisdom medicine!
When the body is tired,
One gives it a physical rest - with sleep,
When the mind is tired,
One gives it a mental rest - with meditation.
Water has the power to purify the body,
Repentance, the power to purify the mind.
Medicine, the power to get rid of body sickness,
And wisdom to get rid of mental sickness.
Water quenches one's physical thirst,
And wisdom, one's thirst for unwholesome thoughts.
Medicine eliminates the physical virus,
And wisdom, the mental virus.
May all beings be happy.
