Seeing the Forest

Each human bears
a painful love
earned through birth
and the unspeakable
intimacy of death.

Experience is easier
than avoidance.
Fear knows nothing.

Alone is impossible
though blindness is the norm.

We wander through a forest
of unique trees
with interwoven roots,
each limb is poised
differently,
each climb closer to the stars.

All we need do
is look up.
