Returning to the Root

A pair of cottonwood seeds caught in an updraft,
drift by, all decked out in their finest fluff.

Locked in a lover's embrace
they tango in the eddies behind the chimney.

In their final frenzy they dance over the top of the cabin
settling on a pile of cottonwood logs.
