What Goes Around

A man I know had cheated on his wife.
He bragged about the thrill of his affair.
Yet now his days and nights are filled with strife—
he lives alone, his wife's no longer there.
An eager woman made such grand headway
and earned promotions in her boss's bed.
As years went on, her good looks fell away.
She was replaced by some once blond redhead.
A spiteful kid broke windows with a ball
then paid for it with money he had earned.
Yes, every dog, in time, will have his fall—
a lesson that is rarely - truly learned.
There is a payoff doing what is right.
Humility, and pleasant dreams and night.
